What is your role at Parspec?
My role at Parspec is Software Engineer II. I work on building and maintaining backend services, APIs, and internal tools that power our website.
Why did you join Parspec?
I came across Parspec while working at a client-focused tech firm and was drawn to its vision, team, and practical approach to solving real-world problems. I felt aligned with its ethos, so when it was time to make a change, Parspec was the clear choice.
What challenges are you looking forward to trying to solve?
I'm focused on ensuring the app maintains top-notch quality as it scales with our growing customer base. My ultimate goal is to help build a product users can’t imagine working without—and I’m eager to take on any challenge along that path.
What sparked your interest in the technology industry?
I've loved playing games ever since I was about three years old, when my dad brought home our first Windows 95 PC. Over time, that passion grew into a curiosity about how everything worked behind the scenes. That early exposure sparked a lasting interest in computers, which eventually led me to pursue a career in software engineering.
How do you see Parspec impacting the AEC industry?
Parspec is helping the AEC industry by streamlining the way products are discovered and specified, making the process faster and more accurate. It supports multiple stakeholders—sales reps, contractors, and distributors—across the construction pipeline, enabling smoother collaboration and better project outcomes.
Are there any recent projects or initiatives at Parspec that you’re particularly excited about, and why?
I'm excited about the new Product Finder update and optimistic that it will bring significant value to our users.
What are your career goals? Where do you think Parspec can take you?
My career goal is to become a well-rounded engineer capable of designing and building scalable, impactful systems. At Parspec, I see the opportunity to work on real-world problems, grow alongside a strong team, and deepen my understanding of both technology and the industry we serve.
If you were not working at Parspec, where would you be?
I’d probably be building something similar at another company.
What do you think is the most important skill that a successful professional in your domain needs to have?
I believe the most important skill is adaptability—the ability to learn, unlearn, and adjust as technologies and challenges continue to evolve.
What is the biggest challenge that you’ve faced since joining the team?
The biggest challenge has been stepping away from the tunnel vision of coding and learning to approach problems more holistically—identifying the most effective solutions, whether through code, process improvements, or smarter collaboration.
What do you see as the most exciting trends or developments in your domain right now?
The growing popularity of AI and large language models (LLMs) is poised to redefine the entire tech industry. Naturally, my interest in this domain has been growing—I'm exploring how they can be applied in various ways, from boosting developer productivity to enhancing decision-making and automating repetitive tasks.
What have been some of the most important lessons you’ve learned throughout your career?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is not to limit myself to my own perspective. Viewing problems through the lens of different roles—such as design, product, or end users—helps uncover the best possible solutions.
Another key lesson I try to live by is maintaining a mindset of continuous learning. It keeps you adaptable, curious, and constantly growing.
What techniques help you stay organized and productive?
I usually keep a simple text file to track my tasks for the day and the next. It helps me stay focused, organized, and clear on what needs to be done.
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
The drive to build something meaningful that people rely on every day is what gets me out of bed. And the faint hope that today’s bugs might fix themselves while I sip my coffee? That definitely helps too!
What is your favorite food?
I'll have the Penne Alfredo with truffle fries on the side, please.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I enjoy exploring new restaurants and cafes, catching up with friends, playing video games, and spending quality time with my family.
Describe your perfect weekend.
My perfect weekend includes good food, time with friends or family, and a few quiet hours to play games or dive into a personal project. Bonus points if there’s a new show or movie to unwind with.
Where are you located? How did you end up there?
I'm based in New Delhi, India, where I was born and have spent most of my life growing both personally and professionally.
